Holy c!!! Found this on Fashion Copious. And I’m thrilled.
The trailer looks a bit tacky in my opinion, reminds me of Project Runway songs. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed Project Runway very much but how the show edited is just plain tacky. The conversation between Donatella and Carine at the end feels so scripted. Maybe this will just be a French version of September Issue, but Carine is my hero and I’m just excited to see her story.
For some reason I decided to play around with Polyvore again. This one in particular is inspired by Dries van Noten SS13 – PLAIDS! I couldn’t find any Dries’ shirt on Polyvore, but this Equipment shirt will do. I randomly found that ‘Happiest people…’ quote on the Polyvore art section. Just a food for thought. The red socks are optional, but the Armani Lip Maestro (which I’ve always wanted to try on) is compulsory. After all, this blog is called LIPSTICK & zines for a reason….
Saint Laurent pumps, Christopher Kane skirt, The Row bag, Dries van Noten blouse…. = dream closet
I was intrigued when I saw the word ‘COLLAGE’ on Acne SS13 Show. Just a plain tee with letters. I liked it. And somehow they are now everywhere, screaming at me! Well, they have always been around of course, it’s just that I now I notice them. I mean, it makes me want to make this post! Here we go, my new lust list:
ACNE – pure luxury.
Brian Lichtenberg – cheeky! But I want one of these.
Rodarte – because, who doesn’t like a typo?
Kenzo – Ok, this one’s got a tiger on it. But just like rest of the world, I too, am in love with Kenzo.
Zoe Karssen – this explains everything
Last year, I waited patiently for Black Swan. This year, my number one on my must-watch list is Lars von Trier’s Melancholia. I haven’t watched any of his films, but this looks like a film I would enjoy. I was going to see Antichrist, but did not have the time (and to be honest, I was a bit scared to watch it). Haven’t seen Dunst in a while and I’ve loved her since Bring It On (I know, right?!). So I’m excited to see her here (she got Best Actress at Cannes for this role). Is this the year of Kirsten Dunst? I hope so! Oh, Gainsbourg and Skarsgaard are also the reason why I’m dying to see this movie.
First of all, please excuse my dorky Pokemon catchphrase reference. So here are some more pictures from the aw11 collections. I noticed there were plenty of bags being clutched. Yes, some of them are not necessarily clutch bags per se. Some of them are actually tote bags (even a doctor bag in the case of Celine). But they were all clutched. My favourite would be Stella McCartney’s circular bag. Tres chic!
(From top to bottom) Prada, Celine, Christopher Kane, Proenza Schouler, Balenciaga, Stella McCartney.
The award season is here!! Last night, I watched the Golden Globe for the first time in London! Normally, I would only read the live comments through websites, but last night I found out this link that streamed the entire show. What I love about film awards, is of course, the fashions. I don’t think it’s about wearing the latest top designer (or in some cases, custom made) dresses, it’s about carrying the look that fits the actress..
My favorite look of the night is definitely Tilda Swinton in Jil Sander. I can’t imagine anyone else pulling off this skirt! The no-make up look works effectively here.
I also adore Emma Stone’s Calvin Klein dress. It’s the kind of dress that I’d personally wear, a backless simple cut dress. Some people say this look is really boring, but I find it edgy and chic. This is probably the first time I accepted her as a blonde…I guess it’s the dress color.
And… the incredibly sexy January Jones! I was really wowed by her, but I kept asking myself if I really like the dress. It’s very revealing, but I’ve made peace with it. I think she’s a great brand ambassador for Versace.
Sometimes it baffles me the way fashion designers work. They don’t have any time offs, do they? The big SS and AW collections, then the smaller range cruise and pre fall collections. I really like the pre fall collections at the moment, here are my favorites:
Proenza Schouler – The color palette is similar to their AW10/11. You can also find some ikat and tribal motifs.
Lanvin – the flower-petal sleeve is just very Lanvin. I especially like the presentation, using wild animals (I wonder how they tamed them). Overall it’s a beautiful collection!
Celine – this blog has been bombarded by Celine! But I can’t help it. Philo continues to thrive! You’ll see how she uses some elements from previous seasons; high collared coat, leather top and fur coat.
I love Jil Sander. Always have, always will. Its pre-fall may not offer much, but this particular look really inspires me. Grey + brown! Minimalism never fails me.
There’s something very commercial about Jason Wu. Either it’s the Michelle Obama effect, or he really is the one to watch. This is probably the first time I actually like his collection, I find it very playful yet effortless.
